NEW Single - Guardians of the Legacy ***FREE DOWNLOAD***

Eddie & the Hot Rods brand new single is the title track from their forthcoming album release, Guardians of the Legacy. It is the first studio recording since the untimely death of front man, Barrie Masters in late 2019 and the first album of new songs since Been There Done That, released in 2006. Guardians of the Legacy tells the story of how, after 25 years of touring together, the band were encouraged to keep going by the fans after Barrie’s passing, with the aim of keeping alive the legacy of one of the UK’s seminal pubrock/punkrock bands.

The full album Guardians of the Legacy will be released at the end of the year, but watch out for more singles before then!

The single, Guardians of the Legacy is currently available only as a free download HERE

Let's have another go at...2021!

Eddie and the Hot Rods hope everyone has managed to survive this dreadful year as unscathed as possible. We know many will have been affected and our thoughts and sympathy go out to those who have had the worst of it.

It's been a crazy, unpredictable and pretty awful 18 months since we lost Barrie and it's given us time to have a think about the future. Many will assume that because we are now without our remaining 'original' that the Band would fold and we would have no need to play our music anymore. Wrong...

It won't please everyone... thank you for supporting us this long...but we are going to carry on with the core of the Band that have stuck together and called themselves Eddie and the Hot Rods for the last 20+ years. It's not like we can just stop playing anyway, but we think we still have something to offer and so offer it we will.

Dipster will take over Frontman/Vocal duties and to help him cover the ground Bazza did, Mic Stoner (ex Chords) has joined us on Bass Guitar. We will never be able to replicate Barrie's immense presence on stage, but neither will we be able to take that stage without him being with us in spirit and we hope you'll be able to understand, that it is with the utmost respect that we decided to continue.

Rescheduled dates, new dates...all just starting to take shape. We will be updating the Gig List and ticket info very soon, when all the info has been gathered. We will also post here which shows have been rescheduled and which are cancelled from our original gig list. Hopefully, this will help out with those who had previously bought tickets and are either waiting for a new date or need to seek refunds - again, this will be as soon as all info is available.

What a far! We don't need to tell you what a challenging time it's been for us, because it's been a sh*te time for everyone. Like many Bands and Artists across the world, we've had to cancel or postpone everything we had planned up until now, including our run of gigs where we were going to have a bit of a party in rememberance of the late, great Barrie Masters. Some of those shows will be rescheduled for next year and although it won't be a specific Memorial Tour, we will always have a party and after so many years on the road together, every show is going to be one for Bazza anyway.

The Hot Rods - On The Road in 2020 in Memory of Barrie Masters

Surviving members of Eddie & The Hot Rods will be out on the road in 2020 in memory of their legendary lead singer, Barrie Masters, who passed away in October 2019.

The shows will see bassist Ian ‘Dispter’ Dean take on the duty of lead vocals. With drummer Simon Bowley, and guitarist Richard Holgarth this line up of Eddie & The Hot Rods backed Barrie Masters for nearly 20 years, making them the longest serving line up in the bands history.

Tributes to Barrie Masters were led online by Spandau Ballet’s Gary and Martin Kemp, The Damned’s Captain Sensible and TV nature show host Chris Packham. His funeral was attended by all living original members of Eddie & The Hot Rods, Dr Feelgood, and Green Day’s live guitarist Kevin Preston who made a special journey following a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Following encouragement from fans worldwide, and at the insistence of Barrie’s family, the band have decided to carry on playing live.

Bass player Mic Stoner will join the band with special guests Department S* and Duncan Reid And The Big Heads** on some shows.

A special London show 1 year on from Barrie’s passing will take place on Saturday 3rd October.
